We made flags and cheered for friends, marked the blacktop with chalk where the car stopped and we measured and compared who went farthest. The children pretended they were mechanics and fixed the car, and then drove to the store and home to make dinner.”

When it was empty, we used it as a bean bag toss. Needless to say, we’ve been having fun.”

They can observe actual speed limit signs while walking or riding in mom or dad’s car, then make speed limit signs for the play area (hmm – good chance to sharpen those observation & fine motor skills!). Older siblings can join in the fun and enjoy helping the adults assemble the structure (as was the case for us) and a wonderful opportunity for problem solving, following directions, learning about tools, and a lot about mom or dad’s patience and determination.”
