Versatility is at the core of its design, with customizable drainage achieved through various drill points to meet your use case and plant type. This indoor or outdoor planter easily adapts to your desired usage. Without pre-drilled drainage holes, it's perfect for indoor use without a drip tray. For outdoor use or indoor use with a drip tray, simply drill any needed drainage holes at the bottom to prevent water buildup. To turn your Step2 planter into a self-watering container, add a wicking material through the holes in the internal tray, then add soil and plants. Drill a fill hole around the rim and a seep hole on the side (indented guide holes provided) to prevent overflowing the internal water reservoir. Fill the water reservoir until it reaches the seep hole. Over time, water will move up the wicking material to maintain even moisture and promote healthy root growth. Do not drill any holes in the bottom if using the self-watering system. With our signature, high-quality construction, your square planter will maintain its rich black coloring with little to no maintenance required. Made in the USA of US and imported parts.
