Step2 is a great place to work. Everyone in the Step2 offices is dedicated to using their knowledge and talents to the benefit our customers. We always strive to put 100% effort into everything we do as an organization and sometimes we need to take a break from our work day to have some well-deserved fun. Summer is the perfect season to have our annual company picnic! We’re sharing some of our planning tips to help you plan a successful event for yourselves:
Tips for Hosting a Great Company Picnic
Great Food: What better way to celebrate summer than with some BBQ? The folks at The Proper Pig Smokehouse supplied mouthwatering delights for us from their food truck. It’s important to have options for those with dietary restrictions, so we made sure there were plenty of options on the food truck along with fresh fruit and vegetables for all. Also essential to hosting an outdoor event in the summer is to provide seating with plenty of shade. And although we wish every summer day was filled with sunshine, having a backup plan for a rain day is a must.
Games: In addition to being hard working individuals, we are also fiercely competitive. This year marks our annual Corn Hole Tournament! 14 pairs of co-workers competed for the title of Step2 grand champion! New to our picnic-palooza this year was flamingo ring toss, which added even more fun! And for those that enjoy games of strategy, we had life sized Jenga and oversized Connect 4 games!
Raffle Prizes: Everyone loves winning prizes! Add to the afternoon fun by offering some great raffle prizes. Our prizes included several local sport-themed items, Orca coolers and restaurant gift cards. We made sure that everyone in attendance received a raffle ticket and chose winners every 30-minutes to keep the anticipation and excitement flowing all picnic long!
Sweet Treats: I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Sweet treats are the perfect way to end an event. We had an ice cream truck filled with cold and delicious treats that refreshed us. Whether it’s ice cream, popsicles or cookies, everyone enjoys a something sweet to remember the event!
