Random Acts of Kindness Day with Lets Make A Difference

Random Acts of Kindness Day is one of our favorite days here at Step2 because it gives us another reason to reach out into the community and spread love and kindness. In honor of this year’s holiday, we spent the morning with Let’s Make A Difference. Based in Medina, OH, Let’s Make A Difference provides children with positive social growth through educational, spiritual and creative experiences.

The program’s founder, Michelle Powell, started Let’s Make A Difference in 2000 after learning the program she was involved in as a child was terminated due to a lack of funding. Michelle’s goal for Let’s Make a Difference started out with a simple game of kickball at a local park and has grown into a program that welcomes 300 kids.

We are inspired by the passion Michelle puts back into her community through Lets Make A Difference and donated a Seaside Villa Playhouse and a Modern Metro Kitchen for her community space! Her current space holds newly painted blue walls, a few tables and chairs, and two wooden easels.

“You’ve answered so many prayers,” Michelle told Step2 when we first reached out about Random Acts of Kindness Day, “This is going to be amazing! The kids are going to have so much fun after school!”

Lets Make A Difference supports after school programs, summer programs and a mowing program that allows middle school students to learn how to earn and save money for their Washington DC trip.
