Keeps Kids Entertained During the Super Bowl

One of the most anticipated Sundays of the year is coming up this weekend, especially if you’re a Denver Broncos or Carolina Panthers fan. But unless you’re able to find a sitter for the game, it may be tough to keep your kids entertained so you can cheer on your team! We’ve compiled a list of ways to keep kids entertained during the Super Bowl!

Get moving. Dance at halftime. This year, Coldplay, Beyoncé and Bruno Mars are performing, so we anticipate some upbeat music.

Super Bowl Bingo. Spot a horse in a commercial? Did a player fumble? Get the kids excited about the game and the commercials with a game of Bingo (or use these player cards to create a game of I Spy).

Make penalty flags or pompoms. Hello Splendid used crepe paper to make an easy penalty flag craft and DIY pompoms, perfect for rooting on your favorite team!

Set up a coloring station. Print out football coloring pages for the little ones to color during the show. An art desk is the perfect place to keep art supplies contained, or if you have multiple kids, instead of positioning them at the kitchen table, set up a table and chair set or picnic table near the TV (in case the crayons make their way off the paper).

Play football. Flick football, that is. Learn how to make an Oragami Football out of a piece of printer paper.

Create a Super Bowl themed toddler busy bag. Add mini footballs, team colored sensory bottles (tape shut so it doesn’t leak or be construed as a drink), and play dough.

Let them help with the food. Kids love helping out in the kitchen, so let them dump out the chips into a bowl or sprinkle chocolate chips on the cream cheese ball. Here are some game day recipes great for a Super Bowl party.

Set up a play area. Give kids an area to host their own gathering. Set up a play kitchen or playhouse to they can hang out with their friends during the big game.

Pick the winner. Have your kids pick their favorite team and let them dress in team colors.

Give them whistles. We never said this was a list of QUIET ways to keep the kids entertained.

Make push pop confetti. We never said these were CLEAN ideas either.
