Celebrating Halloween at Step2 is always an exciting event, but this year the festivities had some added sugar and spice! Girl Scout Troop 90887 and their parents prepared some delicious treats to be sold at the annual Step2 Halloween party.
The girls have been working hard this school year to raise funds to support three kids their age who have been affected by cancer. One of the children is a student in their school district who was diagnosed with Leukemia over the summer. The other two children are cousins of girls in the troop. One has been battling Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia for over 2 years. The other was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia as toddler. He is now cancer-free, but is in need of a double lung transplant. These 3 children have a special place in the hearts of the girls in the troop. After hearing about this children, Step2 wanted to help!
Step2’s mission is to bring family together and the employees made the Girl Scouts part of that family. Step2 employees embraced the girls and were beyond generous with their purchases and donations, totaling nearly $600!
The girls are so thankful for the opportunity to attend the Halloween party and they truly enjoyed interacting with the employees and seeing the creative Halloween costumes.
